Roy Snodgrass

Roy is a free-lance Drummer in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

He has studied with Tommy Gwin and one of the best-known Jazz drummer's on the West Coast, Colin Bailey.

During his time at Eastfield College, under the tutelage of Colin, Roy had the opportunity to develop his own style while playing with the Eastfield College Jazz Ensemble. Under the direction of Curt Bradshaw, one of the original founders of the Dallas Art's Magnet High School Jazz program. The Eastfield College Jazz Ensemble backed various guest artists such as Jack Sheldon , featured soloist, resident comedian and musical director on "The Merv Griffin Show", and "THE" voice behind "School House Rock", The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson's" solo Tenor Saxophonist, Pete Christieb, and Las Vegas Trombonist, Carl Fontana.

Roy was a member of the last rhythm section of Lou Rawls' and Ray Charles' former conductor/arranger, the late Onzy Matthews, and has performed with the Dallas Jazz Orchestra, Mesquite Repertory Jazz Ensemble, the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and the Sam Walker Trio just to name a few.
